Head Chef, Whirlow Hall Farm Trust

Amy studied and qualified in Sheffield before setting up a small private catering company, which she ran successfully until choosing to give it up to raise her two daughters. When the time was right to step back into the kitchen she secured the sous chef position at the Devonshire Arms in Middle Handley where leading local chef Cary Brown was at the helm. Like a duck to water Amy instantly fell back in love with being in the kitchen and loved her time working with and learning from Cary. When the time was right to spread her wings again she moved on and is now proud to be Head Chef at Whirlow Hall Farm Trust.

Amy has always had a passion for food and cooking; her earliest memories are of being in her grandmas kitchen baking; something she insisted on replicating with her own children from a young age.

Amy says “Food is a very powerful thing; it can affect your health and your happiness.  It brings people together and is the heart of most social gatherings, celebrations and family time in our house. I love sitting at the table with my family and friends, sharing thoughts and feelings about our day over a great meal, nothing beats that”

Amy loves to travel and embrace other wonderful cultures and cuisines. Her food gains inspiration from the Middle East with all the exciting aromas, flavours, colours and serving style. Fresh, seasonal produce created with love and served with a smile.
