Freelance Head Chef
Lee worked at Silversmiths restaurant for seven years, five of which were as head chef. Over the years his reputation has gathered quite a following. In April 2017 Lee left Silversmiths to explore new horizons so now as well as taking on the role of Head Chef at the Lawn View Clubhouse in Fulwood, where he’s developing their whole dining offering. He’s also assisting Silversmiths founder Justin Rowntree (Lee’s old boss and great friend) in his new hospitality consultancy business across the city.
Lee has serious pride and passion for all things Sheffield & Yorkshire and all the fantastic produce gods own county has to offer. A key ethos for Lee is utilising all of the produce and not wasting anything (as he’s tight!)
He loves to forage locally for the freshest ingredients and enjoys the challenge of creating dishes with whatever inspires him on the day. He also loves to use old Yorkshire recipes from days gone by; and as a proud Yorkshire man he loves nothing more than chewing the cud with local farmers over a pint of real ale and to celebrate his Yorkshire roots through his food.
Lee’s been a great supporter of the competition and has been involved since the beginning, we’re looking forward to more great food from him this year and perhaps finally we will see him winning the coveted trophy.
