Private Chef/ Sales Representative GW Price
With over 30 years’ experience, Lee Vintin brings a wealth of knowledge to the Sheff’s Kitchen competition.
Having started his career path at Granville College in 86’ Lee left Sheffield and headed south to work in various restaurants and gastro pubs to build up his confidence. A love of snowboarding took him overseas to work in the French Alps where he completed 8 consecutive seasons before heading home in 2001. After landing a job at the prestigious outside London catering company Rhubarb Food Designs; Lee found himself cooking for film premiers, awards shows and private dinner events.
After returning to Sheffield in 2006 he worked in a variety of Sheffield restaurants including Nonnas, Bosworths at Bramall Lane and The Walnut Club. He won The Eat Sheffield restaurant of the year award in 2011 for The Devonshire Arms, in Middle Handley; and has since owned and run cafe Eten in the city Centre. Now outside of the kitchen, Lee is putting his experience into his new role as sales rep for GW Price fruit and veg.
Slightly missing the natural buzz of service and the banter in the kitchen, Lee decided to sign up for the Sheff’s Kitchen competition this year to keep his hand in the kitchen, challenge himself and network with the other chefs.
Lee says “I like taking a raw product and turning it into a dish people enjoy, so I’m really looking forward to getting creative in the kitchen. I know the competition is fierce but I’m really looking forward to showing what I can do, I’m sure we will have lots of fun and of course we will be raising funds for Whirlow too which is an added bonus. I can’t wait to get started”
